Salt of the Earth, by John Godber, told the story of a Yorkshire mining family and spanned three generations. Directed perfectly by Teresa Wilkins, it had an excellent cast with Mandy Brown, Graham Johnson and Isabel Trafford ageing from teenagers to pensioners, and Stuart Mitchell-Smith playing the son who left home and achieved academic success.
